Bad News, June Update

I have some bad news.

Whilst working on the game a script has decided to play stupid

Here’s whats going on

FileNotFoundException: C:/Users/USER/Documents/Game/Assetsrs/USER/Documents/Game/Assets/StreamingAssets/File/TheFile.txt does not exist

as you can see the file.exists has for some reason decided that the file path is ‘Assetsrs’ which I’m certain is responsible for the problem, If you know how to fix this please let me know, Until then I will be remastering the games assets, animations and so on.

Update on progress May

Hi, Just a quick update, I’ll be doing this every now and then from now on just checking things off the checklist

here’s what needs to be done:

  • Fix Startup scene
  • Complete ending cutscene(s)
  • Make sure all scenes work as intended
  • Fix Layer bug (I lost my layers for sprites 🤦)
  • All story scripts enabled
  • Anything else

Sounds are now in the game, There is now a way to get different scenes based on what you’ve completed I just need to figure out how to reload the script in the build. Hopefully this won’t take too long to fix

in other news I’m making very large progress on the game which is yet to be named, It’s in the final stages meaning it’s around 90% complete. Here’s a list of what I still need to complete and how long I expect them to take;

  • Make different startups based on what the player has achieved. 1 week (Currently stuck, Awaiting support, could be more)
  • Make sure all codes are working 4 hours
  • Add music to scenes 8 Days (Creation of 1 week, 1 day of adding them)
  • Complete ending cutscene(s) 5 hours
  • Make sure all scenes work as intended 6 hours
  • All voice actors are credited in the end credits. 5 minutes

That means if I start working right now and don’t stop until it’s done, ignoring food, bathroom and general breaks it would take me 15.628 days, meaning as of 5:30pm Sydney april 12 2020 it would be finished by april 28 2020, based on the fact I only usually work for around 9 hours a week at this current rate it would take me until january of 2021, but do keep in mind the following: These numbers are an absolute maximum, It might take me 1 hour to finish the ending cutscenes, 20 minutes to test all codes 3 hours to test every scene. but also keep in mind; This is saying I do everything from scratch to the highest possible quality, If I made music in something like Garageband it would take me around 3 hours to complete the games full soundtrack, if I hired someone I could work on other things while they make the music. Actually the biggest concern is the startup, I’m hoping I can solve this problem but I don’t know when I will be able to. Anyways thanks for stopping by. Goodbye

December 6th Update notes (And first build)

Hey, I’ve been working very hard to spit this out and rework the game but ITS FINALLY DONE! here’s a link to the game, I’d recommend looking inside the streamingassets file before and after the first boss, Its currently really short however.

December 3rd Pre-Build Update

Hey I’ve made some progress on the game, I’m almost ready to submit the first build, It will be ready by Friday. It’s very functional and just needs to be modified a little bit, it needs credits to voice actors/actresses I’ve been working with and to be cut off at the halfway mark so you don’t see the ending.
